Personal Projects

unplug magazine: The unplug site is up and running, complete with a blog I update regularly and a store with unplug designs.

Our Volksvegan Adventure: Seneca and I embarked on the road trip of a lifetime in 2007 and lived on the road for over seven months. We now have two VWs that run on bio-diesel, and Seneca is starting a bio-fuel business. You can read all about our bio-fuel adventures at volksvegan.org.

Professional Projects

I am currently working on turning my freelance design practice into a design studio called Ahimsa Creative. I hope to focus on providing graphic and web design to non-profits, small green businesses, and causes I believe in.

I currently work with PETA—yes, that PETA—as a web design contractor.

I design the Moscow Food Co-op monthly newsletter, Community News.

I work with local non-profit Noyo Food Forest on various design projects and participate in their community garden.

Our organic garden is a constant work in progress as we strive for self-sufficiency and grow and eat delicious organic produce.

I recently designed a book for a class at the University of Idaho called Future Visions of a Sustainable Palouse exploring possible futures for the area and encouraging sustainable development. I did the design, layout, and photography for the book, while a professor and his students wrote and put together the content. The book has been very successful and will soon be going into a second printing.

My Writing

Below is a list of papers and essays I have written, mostly related to my design studies in college.
