My Design Philosophy
Art is my life. Ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon I have been creating art, and I hope to continue creating until the day I die. I draw inspiration from the world around me, my experiences and the people and places I encounter. I create art to speak my mind, communicate and to make the world a better place.
I chose to study design because it is art that communicates; art with a purpose. Most design is used for commercial ends, and my goal is to re-purpose design to serve the interests of the public and the planet. Design has so much potential to inform, inspire, and bring about change. I hope that my life's work will create such an impact. With enough creativity, I believe we can rethink society and reshape the world.
I strive to make art and design with a strong voice, one that informs, excites, educates and provokes thought. I use my work to fight for causes I believe in and speak out against evil I see around me. I try to make my work meaningful and sustainable, something has more positive impact than just another commercial. I create for myself and for others, to impact society as a whole or just to change one person's mind. I create to make my ideas tangible, express my thoughts and comment on the world as I see it. I create to create, for the sheer joy I find in visualizing my ideas and sharing them with others. Design offers the perfect context for me to spread my message, raise awareness of issues I am concerned about and inspire others to think.
